KB Article 1007566 gives us insight in the snapshot deletion progress. During the snapshot deletion process, it is difficult to observe the progress. While the snapshot deletion is taking place, the following occurs:
- The hostd process does not respond
- It is difficult to determine status of snapshot deletion
Resolution, establish a SSH session to the ESX host and use following command to verify the snapshot process is still running:
